What is psychotherapy?
Often referred to as talk therapy and counselling, psychotherapy is intended to help us improve and maintain our mental health and emotional well-being. We usually seek psychotherapy when we have thoughts and feelings, relationships and situations that are impacting our day-to-day lives and our ability to enjoy life.

What is Jennifer's professional training and registration?

Jennifer's practice at a glance:
Jennifer works with children and adults, providing individual, couples, and family counselling. She offers in-person sessions at her Waterloo office as well as phone and video sessions via Zoom.

What can I expect when working with Jennifer?
Clients who work with Jennifer are welcomed into a safe space for mind, body, heart and spirit. Clients can expect to share a collaborative and therapeutic relationship that is based on clear communication and transparency. With a non-judgmental and supportive approach, Jennifer meets you where you are in your journey. Although no guarantees can be made, therapy can lead to improved mental health and emotional well-being, a better understanding of ourselves and our relationships.

Does Jennifer offer a free consultation?
Yes. Because one of the most important parts of psychotherapy is connection, Jennifer offers a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if working with her could be a good fit for you.

Will I have to commit to weekly, biweekly, or monthly sessions?
For some clients, a set schedule works well. For others, taking it one session at a time is preferred. Because the pauses between sessions are as important as the time spent in session, Jennifer encourages clients to make good use of the resources and 'get-to-do' practices that she recommends.

Are Jennifer's services covered under Insurance Benefits or Health/Wellness Spending Accounts?
Insurance Benefits and Health/Wellness Spending Accounts reimburse clients for health care services. With the proclamation of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), a growing number of insurance companies and employers are providing coverage for services provided by Registered Psychotherapists.

Can I still work with Jennifer if I don't have Insurance Benefits or a Health/Wellness Spending Account?
Yes, you can still work with Jennifer. All clients who work with Jennifer, regardless of coverage, pay for their sessions and are provided with a tax deductible receipt.

What happens when I feel I no longer need counseling or if I would like to pause my sessions?
Congratulations! And welcome home to your intuitive 'healer within'. Jennifer's door is open should you ever feel the need to return.
"Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort, of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away."
