Toward an Intuitive Psychology of the Soul

Born and raised in Newfoundland, Jennifer is well versed in the benefits of 'putting the kettle on'. And her East Coast hospitality does not go unnoticed by her clients. With values gifted to her from her parents and grandparents, Jennifer plants similar seeds for her clients; From her dad she learned the gift of helping those in need, from her mom - the gift of an inquisitive mind for human behaviour, from her maternal grandmother - the gift of a listening ear, from her maternal grandfather - the gift of music, from her paternal grandfather - the gift of hard work, and from her paternal grandmother - the gift of calling a spade a spade.

Jennifer's work can be described as an intuitive psychology of the soul rooted in empathy. Meditative experiences at a young age sparked her interest in the mind-body connection. As it often is with childhood insights, this connection was forgotten (but not lost) for several years thereafter.  Jennifer had glimpses of these experiences throughout her twenties during guided meditation, and in her thirties during moments of deep connection with her daughter.

Throughout her career in research and clinical practice, Jennifer has worked with a number of school boards, non-profit agencies, domestic violence shelters, and health care settings such as SickKids Hospital in Toronto. Life came full circle when she found herself revisiting the healing potential of the mind-body connection; With a growing body of empirical data showing the benefits of mindfulness and yoga for mental health and emotional well-being, Jennifer completed yoga teacher training to help inform the coping strategies she shares with clients.

Because of her personal journey, Jennifer is able to connect with clients of all ages in a meaningful and relatable way, offering sessions and services that best meet their needs. While her academic work has been published in the Journal of Relational Child & Youth Care Practice and presented at the International Child & Youth Care Conference, Jennifer's clinical work has taken a more spiritual approach since having experienced a profound transcendental connection with music. And, like many service providers whose life experiences help guide the trajectory of their career and calling, through Energy Psychology, Jennifer has journeyed deeper to learn what it means to be a conduit. These experiences continue to help guide her work today as she integrates the art and science of psychology with spirituality and music through heartfelt connection and intuition.

"It is a blessing if the listener is a person who can listen with a full heart and can wince, shiver, and feel a ray of pain cross his or her own heart and not collapse."
